The Creaform Engineering team recently worked with a leading manufacturer to identify the cause of poor-performing vehicles in its public transit buses. The goal was to improve fleet uptime and drive down maintenance costs.
The team suspected that the damage to fleets was in part produced by vibrations and dynamic loading conditions. Finite element analyses were performed to assess the impact to the vehicles’ mechanical components and substructures. Using Siemens Simcenter Nastran, Creaform Engineering’s numerical simulations pinpointed the specific root causes and provided recommendations for the fleet manufacture to carry out corrective measures.
